Spartak Moscow has announced a bid for the UEFA Europa League playoffs. It includes only two newcomers: Jamaica striker Shamar Nicholson and Luxembourg midfielder Christopher Martins.
Spartak’s full application: goalkeepers – Alexander Selikhov, Alexander Maksimenko, Daniil Markov, Timur Akmurzin, Mikhail Volkov; defenders – Ayrton, Ilya Gaponov, Georgy Dzhikiya, Samuel Gigot, Maximiliano Kofrie, Ilya Kutepov, Pavel Maslov and Nikolai Rasskazov; midfielders – Zelimkhan Bakayev, Daniil Denisov, Roman Zobnin, Mikhail Ignatov, Ruslan Litvinov, Dmitry Markitesov, Martins, Victor Moses, Stepan Oganesyan, Quincy Promes and Nail Umyarov; forwards – Jordan Larsson, Nicholson, Alexander Sobolev and Vladislav Shitov.
Spartak, thanks to the first place in the group, reached the 1/8 finals of the tournament directly. In winter, the Red and white changed the coaching staff, which was headed by Paolo Vanoli, and several new players were also acquired.
The team will find out its opponent on February 25, and in the 1/8 finals will hold matches on March 10, away, and on March 17 – at home.
