Ovechkin has contracted coronavirus and will not play in the NHL All-Star Game

The captain of the National Hockey League club “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin fell ill with coronavirus. Washington announced on its Twitter page that the captain and leader of the team, Russian striker Alexander Ovechkin, passed a positive test for coronavirus.

The Russian will not be able to take part in the match against Edmonton, which will take place on Thursday night. Ovechkin will also not be able to take part in the All-Star Game, which will be held on February 5 in Las Vegas.

This season Ovechkin has played 46 matches and scored 58 points, scoring 29 goals and giving the same number of assists.
