Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev said after reaching the final of the Australian Open Tennis Championship that it was his worst match at the tournament. He also apologized to the judge he yelled at.

During the match, Medvedev talked too emotionally with the referee at the tower, who did not notice how during the game the opponent’s father constantly said something to his son, which is prohibited. The Russian even called the referee “stupid”, but after the match he shook his hand and apologized.

Medvedev was dissatisfied with his performance.

“I felt tired in some practical jokes. At the end of the third set, he added a little, began to strike blows that the opponent did not expect. I didn’t really change my position, I started hitting harder, I won quick points. I think it was my worst game at the tournament, I smeared more than in previous matches,” the Russian said after the match.

The final against Spaniard Rafael Nadal, according to the Russian, will be special.

“I’m ready. I know Rafa is a very strong player. I will do my best to try to win this match,” Medvedev said.
