TASS, February 9. The current world boxing champion according to the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight Briton Tyson Fury can meet his compatriot and mandatory challenger for the WBC title Dillian White on April 23 in London at Wembley Stadium. This is reported by the Boxingscene portal.

According to the source, the fight between Fury and White will take place if all agreements between the boxing teams are reached by February 21 – the deadline set by the WBC.

On January 28, an auction of the tender for the organization of the Fury-White fight took place at the WBC headquarters in Mexico City. The winner was promoter Frank Warren, representing Fury. Later, WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced on Twitter that Warren’s winning bid was more than $41 million and is the largest in boxing history. If the fight takes place, Fury will receive more than $29 million. The minimum payments to White will amount to more than $7 million. Fury’s last fight was held on October 9, 2021 in Las Vegas against American Deontay Wilder, the Briton won by knockout in the 11th round, holding his first WBC title defense. On December 30, WBC President Suleiman gave Fury time to organize his second belt defense against White, all agreements had to be settled by January 11, 2022. However, negotiations between the boxing teams were repeatedly postponed. According to the publication, the Ukrainian’s rival, the Briton Anthony Joshua, defeated on September 25, 2021, had to give up his right to revenge by accepting 15 million pounds (about € 18 million) in compensation.
