TASS, February 9. Former third racket of the world Argentinian Juan Martin del Potro lost to his compatriot Federico Delbonis in the first round of the tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Buenos Aires

The match ended with the score 6:1, 6:3 in favor of Del Bonis. In the second round, he will play with Spaniard Pablo Andujar.

Del Potro took to the court for the first time in two and a half years, he did not perform due to injury and several knee surgeries. The last time the Argentine took to the court was in June 2019.

Del Potro is 33 years old, he is the former third racket of the world in singles and the winner of the 2009 US Open, as well as a finalist of the tournament (2018), he has 22 ATP titles to his credit. Del Potro is a silver and bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in singles, winner of the 2016 Davis Cup as part of the Argentine national team.
